Creating the Tour Poster

After analyzing front album covers and tour poster, I have decided that I am going to create the official tour poster for the group. I am confident in producing the product as I have a much thorough insight as to how I am am going to construct my design as I now know the typical conventions as to what is included on a tour poster. I know from my idea and knowledge I will be able to give it a professional outlook it deserves. The two images below are tour posters in the same genre as the music video we have created. I have looked at these tour posters also so that I have a clear outline as to what I will design for the group.

Copyright Information/Laws

I am aware that before making the final music video version to go viral across web 2, the group are very aware about the issue of copyright laws, as we will be using the song "Stay With Me" within the music video. If we do not consider copyright laws it is likely that our video will be brought down by you tube and so in order to overcome this we are going to find out additional information as to who own the song and whether will be able to contact whoever to seek if we will be able to use the song for only our educational purpose. In regards to copyright information/laws, I have found a website explaining how youtube approach the factor of copyright within videos that go viral across the internet. This has provided the group with a clear understanding as to how we are going to approach this issue for our music video.

Individual Music Video

In terms of the groups music videos first draft, each member has decided that it would be a suitable idea to put together our own individual music video from the clips we have all gathered. We believe that this would be a good idea as it will help us all to give eachother a better outline as to how our final version will look when we show each other our personal versions. Doing this will help to widen our ideas as well which will contribute in putting together a more professional music video throughout our journey. Below is my version of the music video.

From viewing these album covers and tour poster I have been able to identify the typical codes and conventions as to what is included on these media products in which I have included in this slide share analysis below. Doing this has provided me a a thorough insight as to how me and the group will be able to construct and put together our album/CD cover and tour poster confidently and effectively. Album Covers and Tour Posters

In order to promote the groups media product to the demographic I have now decided to conduct some research into album covers and tour posters. These are the two media products that we will be using  in order to promote the artist actor and the music video itself. Below I have done a brief overview as to what these products are used for and their purpose.

The Purpose of Album Covers and Tour Posters

An album cover is the front of the packaging of a commercially-released audio recording product. A tour poster is another commercial media product device that is used for a similar purpose, mainly to promote the artist and serve recognition. These media products are primarily used to…..
•   To advertise and identify the contents of the music product.
•   To convey the artistic aspirations of the original artists
•   In reproductions of the artwork, to serve as a primary image in the promotional efforts surrounding the product, as an identifiable image associated with it

Individual Response

Considering the audience response to the music video that me and the group created, I have deiced to share my personal response of the music video as an individual. Within the video I have discussed as to what went well and what did not go well throughout in terms of editing and viewing the first draft and what I believe the group can do in order to create a better music video when it comes to our next editing process.

Audience Response

After presenting the groups first draft of our music video to the class we have been provided with responses from our audience in regards to the music videos demographic. The majority of the class who viewed and experienced our music video were able to give us their insight and a critical response as to what was good and what could be improved in regards the second attempt of editing the video. Below is a slide share PowerPoint I have created outlining the audience responses.

Music Video First Draft

After all of the editing process we have now been able to finish and finalize our project video. The class will also be viewing the video soon and providing us feedback in which  we will take on board when we are improving our music video. Doing this we have now shared the video by uploading it to you tube, which will more likely allow a wider demographic to view our video and possibly be provided more feedback. This will benefit the group as it will allow us to take a more confident approach when we re-edit the video in imovie for our final version. However as this is not yet our final draft we will have to research more on copywright laws and so we will only make the video private/unlisted. Below is the music video of the groups first draft.

Post Production - The Start of the Editing Process

The group has now gone underway with the editing process of creating our music video. Me and another group member Ian have started the post production and the 2 other members Anthony and Kieran also contributed to the task in hand as well. The group are using the iMovie software. We have used iMovie before, however before we started editing we were not entirely confident on how we would be able to use the software. Although throughout the process we did overcome the difficulties we did encounter at first and after using the software for awhile we have a more confident approach in regards to using the software now. I have inserted some screenshot image below to show our progression and development throughout using imovie to construct our media product.

Shooting Script

In order to plan our editing process for creating the music video we have now drawn up and developed our knowledge from the contact sheet and analysed each of the chosen videos in much greater detail. In regards to the groups thoughts and ideas while filming the scenes for our music video we constructed a number of shots taken so that we have a variety of scenes to choose from for this stage of editing that the group are at.

As a result of this we have decided to draw up a shooting script now so that we now have a better understanding and outlook as to how the music video will be as part of distributing aspect. Therefore this will help us consistently while we all edit the video as we have a much more organised structure for the overall music video product.

I have drawn up a shooting script based upon the groups discussions and intentions we have recommended to each other. Within the shooting script  I have included the number of shots that group will be using as well as a description of the shots in terms of camera angles and movement. This also includes the day, time, location and equipment used in the time period we filmed for the music video.

After a group meeting regarding the contact sheet, the group have come to a decision as to what clips we will be using for our music video, before beginning thew post production. Now we have a clear view as to what lies ahead in regards to the outlook of our music video.

Contact Sheet

Before the group can start the editing process of creating the music video, we have decided to print out a contact sheet in regards to the images and footage we have taken in each location overall. The contact sheet has allowed me and the group to discuss and evaluate what aspects in regards to our original footage and images which would be ideal and most effective to use for the music video. Therefore by doing this, the contacts sheet will allow us to choose which clips we have decided to use in a confident, effective and simpler manner when editing. Below I have inserted image displaying the contact sheets. As of this we have highlighted and circled the clip numbers below, based upon the footage we will most likely be using in our music video.

Photoshoot - Last location

Yesterday me and the rest of the members in group 1 constructed our last stages for the production for the music video. While filming in our last location we were able to confidently film scenes without being interrupted as most of the area was not overcrowded and confined in regards to space. The weather was very suitable for filming as well and therefore much of the higher key lightning help to stimulate a more professional outlook in regards to the scene the group filmed. Below are a few images from the last photo shoot which which will be uploaded to the blog.

Production - Last Location/Weather

Tomorrow the group will be going out on location for the last time to film for the final stages in terms of exceeding our next step in post production to create our music video. The last location will be filmed and photographed at Crosby Beach. The production stage for filming will yet again take place during the daytime period and from analysing this weeks weather forecast, conditions seem sunny and settled which therefore suggests that it is suitable enough to film for the production for the music video. Later on this week me and the group will start the post-production stages for our music video using the editing software's such as iMovie and Sony Vagas. This will be followed up by a contact sheet in addition and the last photo shoot for the third location will be uploaded shortly.
